Voltamos

Hoje amanheceu como um sábado normal, como tantos outros que se passaram. O calor era infernal no Rio de Janeiro, suas praias estavam lotadas, mas pra milhões de brasileiros, este sábado seria especial. Hoje um grande pesadelo chegava ao fim.

A verdadeira dimensão deste dia só pode ser compreendida se voltarmos no tempo até 1898. Neste ano foi fundado um clube de regatas, mas que se tornaria conhecido mundialmente pelo seu futebol. Os anos se passaram e veio o pioneirismo na luta contra o preconceito racial, conheceríamos um time quase imbatível chamado Expresso da Vitória, vieram 22 títulos estaduais, 4 títulos brasileiros e muitas outras glórias nos mais diversos esportes. Sua história o fez um gigante, mas o destino trazia desafios assustadores.

O rebaixamento a série B sempre pareceu impossível. Zombávamos de nossos conterrâneos ameaçados e atingidos por este fantasma. Porém, nosso dia chegou. Confesso que fui tomado por um sentimento de traição. Foi o meu primeiro amor, a quem confiei de olhos fechados, dei meu suor e sangue, sempre o defendi da forma mais passional possível e só o que eu pedia eram vitórias. Os anos de autoritarismo e administrações no mínimo incompetentes haviam nos enfraquecidos a um ponto que eu não achava que seria capaz.

Agora, no dia 7 de novembro de 2009 voltamos de onde não deveríamos jamais termos saído. Não estamos na elite, nós somos elite. Tudo bem que o jogo de hoje foi feio, longe da grandiosidade do momento, mas cumpriu o seu papel. Agora podemos fingir que foi tudo um pesadelo e seguirmos em frente. Poderíamos, mas não deveremos. Somente vitórias, títulos poderão amenizar o que passamos. Mas esquecer??? Creio não ser possível.

8 Pensamentos sobre a 8° semana

Desculpe o atraso, mas minha vida tá meio complicada no momento, então este post atrasou um pouco. Vamos falar de NFL então:

Outra semana se passou e nos aproximamos cada vez mais da pós-temporada. Alguns dos melhores times tiveram uma folga como NE. Patriots, P. Steelers e C. Bengals, mas muitos dos candidatos ao título jogaram estiveram em campo. Aqui vão alguns pensamentos e o ranking da oitava semana.

1. Os Colts e Saints não estão tão na frente de seus adversários como pensávamos. Nota especial ao fato de Peyton Manning ter vencido sem um TD de passe pela primeira vez nos últimos 500 jogos. Eu achei que isso nem era permitido;

2. Aaron Rodgers deve ter feito algo de muito ruim a alguém de sua linha ofensiva. Ele deve ter pego a irmã do center, bateu no carro de algum dos guards ou qualquer coisa que deixaram eles putos com ele. Os pesadelos com Jared Allen vão durar pelo menos 3 meses;

3. A defesa e os wide-receivers do Philadelphia Eagles significam muito trabalho pra qualquer um da liga;

4. O jogo de passe long de Eli Manning é a maior piada da liga no momento. Ele parece estar brincando de roleta russa com eles. A defesa do Giants talvez seja uma piada tão grande quanto;

5. 2 Touchdowns de corrida não significam que LaDainian Tomlinson  tá de volta. Então, por favor, será que o verdadeiro LT poderia comparecer aos jogos novamente;

6. Jake Delhomme está vivo, pelo menos esteve na última semana;

7. Tudo o que Vince Young faz é vencer jogos de futebol americano;

8. Quando você perde pros Saint Louis Rams, então tá na hora de fazer séria mudanças.

8 THOUGHTS ON WEEK 8

Sorry, but life is a little crazy right now and this post is coming a little late. Let´s talk about NFL.

One more week and the season gets closer to the playoffs. Some of the best teams as NE . Patriots, P. Steelers and C. Bengals had a little brake on bye, but many contenders were on the field. Here some thoughts on it and the rankings:

1. The Colt and Saints are not as far from the rest of the league as we thought. Special note for the first time Peyton Manning won without a passing TD in the last 500 games, I didn’t even though it was allowed.

2. Aaron Rodgers must have done something bad to someone on his offensive line. Maybe he hook up with his center’s sister, crashed his guard’s car or anything that made them mad with him. Nightmares with Jared Allen will last for a minimum of 3 months.

3. Eagles defense and wide-receivers means trouble to anyone in the league.

4. Eli long pass game it’s the best joke in the NFL right now. He seems to be playing Russian roulette with those. Giants defense may be as big of a joke as Eli throwing a football.

5. Two running TDs don’t mean LT is back. So, will the real LT please stand up.

6. Jake Delhomme is alive, at least he was for one week

7. All Vince Young do is winning football games

8. When you loose to the Rams serious changes should be made.

Número 27

Que noite. Eram 3:30 da manhã quando eu finalmente fui dormir. Nove anos depois o NEW YORK YANKEES conseguiu seu título. Número 27 !!!! Para mim esse foi um pouco especial. Pela primeira vez eu assisti à praticamente todos os jogos, desde a pré-temporada até a WORLD SERIES. E que grupo de jogadores. As pessoas dizem que química é valorizada além da conta, mas esse caras mostraram que faz parte de um time vencedor, essa tal de química. Jogo após jogo, vitória após vitória eles pareciam gostar um dos outros, mas importante, pareciam gostar de jogar lado a lado.
A temporada começou um pouco devagar, mas quando todas as peças finalmente se juntaram ninguém pode parar esse time. Um walk-off atrás do outro, vitória e mais vitória, eles mostraram que grande clube os Yankees são. Depois de 103 vitórias na temporada regular, os playoffs começaram e eles mostraram que eles estavam aqui para isso, o TÍTULO.
Jogadores fizeram sua parte. Como A-ROD e sua extraordinária performance nos playoffs. CC Sabathia arremessando como o verdadeiro ACE do time, Jeter jogando como Jeter joga (para aqueles que pensavam que ele estava acabado, aí está sua resposta!), Teixeira e sua defesa acima da média, Pettitte não demonstrando nenhum sinal de sua idade, Matsui e sua incrível World Series e MARIANO RIVERA. Eu farei um parte especial ao Mariano. Tivemos 8 closers na pós-temporada e todos eles tiveram pelo menos um blow save ou uma derrota. Todos com exceção de um: surpresa, surpresa MARIANO RIVERA. Jogando 1 entrada, 2 entradas, não importava. Ele fechou cada jogo em que entrou. As vezes não era um save, mas era para terminar o jogo sem nenhuma chance de retorno. E uma menção especial para o técnico. JOE GIRARDI. Quão incrível ele foi tendo todas as suas decisões postas em dúvida e mesmo assim mantendo-as acreditando que aquele era o caminho certo para ele e para o time.

A WORLD SERIES de 2009 pertence ao NEW YORK YANKEES e o mundo está de volta a normalidade.

NUMBER 27

What a night. It was 3:30 in the morning when I finally went to bed. After nine years the NEW YORK YANKEES got his title. Number 27 !!!!! For me this one was a little special. For the first time a watched almost every game from spring training to the world series. What a group of players. People say that chemistry is overrated but this guys showed that is a valuable part of a winning team. Game after game they seen to enjoy each other and most important seens to enjoy play together.
The season started a little bit slow but when all pieces came together no one could stop that team. Walk-off after walk-off, wins after wins this they showed what a great ballclub the Yankees are. After 103 wins in regular season the playoff started and the team showed they were here for the TITLE !
Players steped up. Like A-ROD and his amazing pos-season. CC Sabathia pitching like the true ACE of the staff, Jeter doing what Jeter does ( for those who thought he was done, here's your answer !), Teixeira and his superb defense, Pettitte showing no sign of his age, Matsui and his incredible World Series and MARIANO RIVERA. I’ll do a special part for Mariano. We had 8 closers in this pos-season and every one og them or blew a save or lost a game except for surprise, surprise MARIANO RIVERA. Pitching 1 inning, 2 innings...didn't matter to him. He close every game he enter. Sometimes not in a save situation but just to finish the game without doubt. And a special mention not to a player but to the manager. JOE GIRARDI. How incredible he was having all his action doubt in some level and still believing that he and the team were in the right way.
The 2009 WORLD SERIES belong to the NEW YORK YANKEES and the world is right back on track.

Game 3, 4 and 5 Recap

Sorry took this long but my weekend was a little bit busy so I'll do a recap of the three games at Philadelphia all together.

Game 3

On Game 3 Andy Pettitte tooked the mound to face Cole Hamels. It wasn't a pretty game from Andy but he capped the Yankees in the Game. He trew 104 pitches leaving the game with 6 innings 4 runs and 7 strikeouts and with the win in sight. He even got his first Wolrd Series RBI with a single and then scorea a run on Damon's double ( fun fact: Jeter almost caught him on the run). For the Phillies last year Wolrd Series MVP Hamels started the Game really well but after Alex Rodriguez two run homer felt apart. He gave up 5 run in 4.1 innings with only three strikesout. The Yankees offense finally showed up and the final sxore was 8-5. Yankees was leading the Series 2-1.

Game 4

On Game 4 Phillies manager Charles Manuel sent Blanton to face CC Sabathia who was coming of three days rest. It's wasn't a dominant performance by CC but he got out of the game with the win before Chamberlain left one on the strike zone that Pedro Feliz deposited on the Left Field seats to tie the game. After that Manuel brought Lidge for the first time in this World Series. After two quick outs he had a battle of 9 pitches with Johnny Damon before Damon hit a single to keep the game alive. On the next pitch Damon stole second base and saw that nobody was protecting the third base. He stole another one putting the go ahead run apenas 90 feets away. That maked Lidge worried and he hitted the next hitter. Teixeira got firts base with damon on third and with Rodrigues coming to plate. He lined a 1-2 pitch to left field for a double bringing Damon home and putting runners on second and third. Posada followed with a double of his one making 7-4. Game closed and the Yankees tookes a 3-1 lead at the Series.

Game 5

On a must win game for the Phillies they broyght Lee on normal rest to face AJ Burnett on three days rest for the first time this season. The Yankees got a first lead with Rodriguez double making Damon score. But on the bottom half of the inning Aj allowed the first to hitter to get on base and then Utley hitted his fourth homer of the Series making the game 3-1 Phillies. On the third inning the Phillies got to Burnett again scoring three runs again and making AJ leave the game after just two innings. The Phillies offense showed up and on the 8 inning was 8-2 Phillies. But then the Yankees woke up and got a rally. They score three runs on the 8 thanks to another double buy Rodrigues that Ibanez couldn't get. On the ninth Madson came in for the Phillies (look likes Lidge won't show up again on this series) and the Yankees put the first twon hitters on bases. But after start the count on front 2-1 Jeter hitted a double play making Madson's life easier. Damn got a RBI single but after him Teixeira strikeout finish the game. The Phillies won 8-6 and wednesday the series go back to New York for Game 6 to a duel that I particularly was waiting: ANDY PETTITTE vs PEDRO MARTINEZ !!!!! See you guys there.

Previsões NBA – Parte II

Como prometido, aí vai a segunda parte das previsões da temporada 2009/2010 da NBA. Dessa vez falaremos dos times do oeste. Então lá vai:

DALLAS MAVERICKS

Eu espero um time melhor nesse ano com a chegada de Shawn Marion, podendo até fazer algum barulho durante a temporada regular, mas não tem chance nenhuma de chegar as finais. A maior história nessa temporada será como Mark Cuban irá reagir à idéia de não ser o dono mais excêntrico da liga devido ao bilionário russo do Nets. Imagine o quanto seria divertido se eles, toda semana, começassem a fazer uma loucura atrás da outra tentando superar o outro. Isso provavelmente não acontecerá, mas certamente seria divertido.

DENVER NUGGETS

Eles começam esta temporada mais uma vez como um time que deve chegar longe. Possuem todas as armas ofensivas, mas a defesa precisa melhorar ou não serão nada mais que um time de playoffs. Se eles tem alguma intenção de conseguirem o anel, além da defesa como mencionado, Carmelo terá que provar que pode ser um jogador dominante nos playoffs e aparecer nos últimos minutos de jogos importantes. Para nós brasileiros a maior história será finalmente um compatriota com chances de chegar ao All-Star Game. Yao tá machucado, Shaq foi embora, Howard tá no leste... eu só to falando que é possível. Chegar lá ou não dependerá das performances dele e do Denver durante a temporada.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Até o Don Nelson sabe que seu time não chegará a pós-temporada. Somente certifique-se de assistir alguns jogos pra checar o desenvolvimento de Anthony Randolph e Stephen Jackson buscando o título de faltas técnicas do Rasheed Wallace.

HOUSTON ROCKETS

Eles não terão as duas maiores estrelas do time, mas isso não é novidade nem pra eles e nem pra ninguém. Porém, não os conte fora ainda. Esse time é bem treinado e faz todas as pequenas coisas necessárias, especialmente na defesa. Eu também tenho quase certeza que alas e armadores não ficarão muito felizes de enfrentar Battier e Ariza jogando juntos. Como a maioria dos cestinhas da liga jogam nestas posições, então vocês entendem porque eles lutarão por uma vaga nos playoffs.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS

Eles não conseguiam ganhar um jogo contra um time da WNBA na temporada passada e o prêmio de consolação foi Griffin na primeira escolha do draft. Já nessa temporada, se eu não estou louco, eles tem uma chance legítima de chegarem à pós-temporada. Por que? Baron Davis está de volta em forma, duas das melhores jovens estrelas da liga em Gordon e Thortnon, Camby e Kaman para controlarem o aro e a previamente mencionada primeira escolha do draft. Os Clippers talvez voltem a festa em abril.Eles são a primeira surpresa da temporada e já chegaremos na segunda.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS

Em time que tá ganhando não se mexe. Então por que trocar um ala com um bom ataque e uma forte defesa (Ariza), por um ala com um bom ataque e forte defesa (Artest)? Por que mexer em uma fórmula vencedora? O Ariza não tava dando exatamente o que eles precisam com a defesa firme e cestas de 3 decisivas? Diga um time que chegou as finais de conferência com o Artest no elenco. Eu não sei, mas acho que Phil Jackson irá se arrepender antes mesmo de fevereiro.

PS: Imagine como seria f#*$ um especial da ESPN mostrando a interação entre o maior maluco e o maior ego da liga. O quanto você pagaria para ouvir o que o Kobe diria ao Artest após ele tentar um arremesso de 3 decisivo contra os Cavs ou Celtics em rede nacional? Como Ron-Ron reagiria? Por favor ESPN, torne isto realidade!! Por favor!!

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES

Ah, os Grizzlies!! Esse é doloroso pra mim.  Eu gostava deles. Mayo e Gasol tiveram boas temporadas de estréia, Gay é um jogador pouco apreciado que cresceria muito em um time melhor, mas não é o time para Allen Iverson. Como para todos os fãs do AI, a última temporada foi dura pra mim. Iverson estava no meio de uma situação bem ruim pra ele, e mesmo assim achou uma pior ainda para esta temporada. Ele é um competidor e este time não vai a lugar nenhum, ele precisa da bola em suas mãos, assim como a maior das jovens estrelas do time, ele não aguenta mais jogar 40 minutos todas as noites, e este time lhe pede exatamente isto. Tá tudo muito errado e só espero algumas performances individuais brilhantes como no passado. Depois de que tudo isso tiver passado , esta provavelmente terá sido o fim de sua carreira, e não deveria terminar assim pra um jogador tão especial.

NEW ORLEANS HORNETS

Essa é a temporada que Chris Paul salva a carreira de Okafor. Ele pode até chegar ao All-Star nas costas do Paul. Já o time, é bom, mas parece um passo atrás da elite da NBA. Devem jogar pela segunda fase dos playoffs e só.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDERS

Essa será a temporada que o mundo será apresentado a Kevin Durant. Eu estou falando de realmente saber o quanto esse cara é bom. Ele foi incrível até agora, só que ninguém percebeu devido ao time que ele joga. Esta temporada porém, ele deverá ser All-Star, ser cogitado para o primeiro time da NBA e as pessoas finalmente irão descobrir que tem um time jogando em Oklahoma City. Por que? Ele tem crescido diante de nossos olhos (cheque os números), já fez uma grande temporada passada (cheque de novo), não é a única jovem estrela em ascensão no time e lembrem, o verão de 2010 fez metade da liga se tornar medíocre e nem estar se importando. E á por isso que coloco os Thunders como a surpresa da temporada e prevejo pelo menos38 vitórias para eles.

PHOENIX SUNS

Esse time não chegará longe e Stoudemire já ta bem longe. Se o Nash sair após esse ano também, então eles começarão a reconstrução. Lembrete ao manager do Suns: Procure por um pouco de defesa.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS

Um bom time jovem, mas a maior aquisição deles no verão (Andre Miller) foi muito errada pra esse time. Eles precisavam de um bom cestinha na ala. A saúde dos joelhos de Greg Oden também terão papel fundamental na temporada. Apesar disso, possuem problemas maiores, pois segundo rumores time e treinador não estavam muito em sintonia no final da última temporada. Se as coisas não derem certo de início, então esperem que o treinador McMillan saia ainda durante a temporada.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS

Esse time é muito talentoso e experiente, bem treinado e acabou de ficar mais forte e jovem com a chegada de Richard Jefferson. Até deram sorte com o novato DeJuan Blair caindo no colo deles no draft. o que tá faltando então? Neste momento, parece mais fácil eu pegar a Hayden Panittieri que Duncan, Manu e Parker jogarem um mês inteiro juntos sem que um deles se machuque. Mas se eles conseguirem, então tomem cuidado resto da liga. 

SACRAMENTO KINGS

Este é um dos times mais intrigantes da liga. Por que? Porque os irmãos  Maloofs devem ter algum plano de 10 anos mirabolante pra dominar a liga. Essa é a única explicação que eu achei pra um time ser tão ruim por tanto tempo e não fazer nada pra mudar a situação. Talvez eles saibam de algum fenômeno de 9 anos melhor ainda que o Lebron e estão economizando e construindo um time pra ele. Eu não sei, mas é a única explicação que eu achei.

UTAH JAZZ

Todo ano eu escolho o Jazz pra chegar as finais, mas este ano não serei enganado. Adoro o jogo do Deron Williams e se ele não for selecionado pro All-Star esse ano então o governo americano deve iniciar uma investigação. O cara claramente está entre os 3 melhores armadores principais da liga e nunca foi chamado. É tão loucura quanto injusto. Porém, uma coisa que aprendi nestes anos é que Carlos Boozer não levará time nenhum longe. Pelo menos não enquanto seu nome for mencionado mais por renovação de contrato, free-agency e coisas deste tipo do que pelo seu jogo. Ás vezes importa mais quem quer vencer mais do que quem é mais talentoso.

NBA PREVIEW – Part II

As promissed here is the second part of the NBA 2009-2010 season preview. This time we'll talk about western teams. So here is:

DALLAS MAVERICKS

I expect them to be a better team this year with the addition of Shawn Marion and they may even make some noise during the regular season, but have no chances of making the finals. The biggest story this season, will be how Mark Cuban will react to the idea of not been the most eccentric owner in the league because of Nets’ Russian billionaire. How fun if every week they start doing one crazy thing after another to outduel each other. That probably won’t happen, but sure would be fun.

DENVER NUGGETS

They start this season one more time as a team to make it far. They have all the offensives weapons, but defense needs to improve or they’ll be nothing more than a playoffs team. If they have any intention of getting the ring, other than defense, Carmelo needs to prove he can be a dominant player through the playoffs and come up big in the finals minutes of the big games. For us Brazilians the story will be a country man finally with a chance of making the All-Star Game. Yao is hurt, Shaq is gone, Howard is east... I’m just saying it’s possible. Making or not it’s up to his performance and Denver’s trough the season.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Even Don Nelson knows his team won’t make it to postseason. Just make sure you catch some Warriors games to check out the development of Anthony Randolph, and Stephen Jackson seeking to takeover the Technical Fouls Title away from Rasheed Wallace.

HOUSTOUN ROCKETS

They won’t have the two biggest stars on the team, but that isn’t news for them or anyone. Don’t rule them out yet. This team is well coached and do all the little things, especially on defense. I’m also pretty sure Shooting Guards and Small Forwards won’t be too happy to face Battier e Ariza together. Since most of the offense studs in the league play these two positions you get why they’ll fight for a playoffs spot.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS

They couldn’t win a game against a WNBA team last season and the consolation prize was Griffin with the number one pic in the draft. As for this season though, if I’m not crazy, they have a legit chance to make the postseason. Why? Baron Davis is back in great shape, two of the best youngs stars in the league in Thortnon and Gordon, Camby and Kaman controlling the ring and the previous mentioned number one player in the draft. Clipperland may be back to the party in April. They are the first surprise of this season, the next one is coming soon.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS

We have a saying in Brazil that says you shouldn’t make changes in winning teams. They traded a SF that could play some offense and is a tough defender (Ariza) for a SF that can play some offense and is a tough defender (Artest). Why messing with a winning formula by adding the craziest player to ever play in the NBA? Didn’t Ariza gave them exactly what they needed, solid D and clutch 3 point shooting? Name one team that made conference finals with Artest on the roster. I don’t know, but I think coach Jackson will be regretted by February.

PS: How f^*#*$/# amazing would be a 30 for 30 special showing the interaction between NBA’s biggest Ego and NBA’s biggest maniac?? How much you’d pay to hear what Kobe’s gonna say to Artest after he tries to make the winning 3 point shot against Celtics or Cavs on national TV. Can you imagined how Artest will react?? Please ESPN, please?? Make this happen!!!

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES

Oh, the Grizzlies?? This is a sad on for me. I used to like them. Mayo and Marc Gasol had good rookie seasons, Rudy Gay is a underrated player that would grow a lot in a big team, but they are not the team for Allen Iverson. Like every other Iverson fan, I had a tough time last season. AI was in the middle of a really bad situation for him and yet he managed to find a worse place. Iverson it’s a competitor and this team ain’t going nowhere, he needs the ball in his hands as the biggest young star in the team in Mayo, he can’t play over 40 minutes anymore and this team asks him just that. It’s all wrong and I just wait him to give us the great individual performances from the past. After all is said and done this will probably be the end of his career and this wasn’t the way things should go for a player this special.

MINNESOTTA TIMBERWOLVES

We want Rubio!!!!

NEW ORLEANS HORNETS

This is the season Chris Paul saves Okafor career. He can even make All-Star on Paul’s back. The team is good, but seems a step behind NBA elite. They should play for a second round in the playoffs and that´s it.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDERS

This is the season the world will be introduced to Kevin Durant. I’m talking about getting to know how good this guy is. He’s been incredible so far, only few people noticed because of his team. This season though, he’s getting All-Star love, All-NBA first team considerations and people will finally discover that´s a team playing for OKC. Why?? He’s been growing before our eyes (check his numbers), he already was one of the best in the league last season (check again), he’s not the only young star growing on that roster, and remember, summer of 2010 made half of the league mediocre and they don’t even care about that. And that’s why I’m putting the Thunders as the biggest surprise this year and predicting at least 38 wins for them.

PHOENIX SUNS

The team won’t make far and Stoutdemire is so gone. If Nash lives after this season too, than they’ll start rebuilding. Note to Suns manager: Look for some D.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS

Good young team but their biggest offseason acquisition (Andre Miller) was so wrong for them. They could use a big scorer at Small Forward. Oden's kness will play a big role in their future too. And that’s not even a big problem as rumors says coach and team didn’t ended well last year. If they don’t start winning right from the beginning than McMillan may be gone through the season.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS

This team’s too talented, too experienced, have a great coach, the best player of the last 10 years and just got stronger and younger adding Jefferson. They even got lucky by having rookie DeJuan Blair falling in the draft right into their roster. What’s missing? Right now it seems easier for me to hook up with Hayden Panittieri than Duncan, Manu e Parker playing a whole month together without one of them getting hurt. But if they do, watch out rest of the league.

SACRAMENTO KINGS

One of the most intriguing teams in the league. Why?? Cause the Malloofs brothers must have a killing 10 years plan to take over the league. Cause that’s the only explanation I found for a team to suck this much, for so long, and don’t make a effort to get somewhere. Maybe they know something about a 9 years old phenomenon even better than Lebron and are building and saving for him. I don’t know, but it’s the only explanation I found for them.

UTAH JAZZ

Every year I pic the Jazz to make the finals but I won’t be fooled anymore. I love Williams game and if he doesn’t make to All-Star Game this season than the US government should begin investigating this. The guy is clear among the 3 best PG in the NBA and never made the game. That’s just as crazy as it is unfair. But one thing I’ve learned this past years is Carlos Boozer will never lead a team toward the ring. Not while he’s more comment about renovating his contrac, trying free-agency, and things like that, than about his game. Sometimes it’s more about wanning it the most , than been the most talented.

Playoffs teams in some order:

Mavericks, Nuggets, Clippers, Lakers, Hornets, Blazers, Spurs, and Jazz.

Conference Finals: Lakers X Spurs (It will be a heath matter, so probably LA in six games)

NFL Week 7 Recap

OK, week seven is over and as we’re getting closer to postseason and contenders and pretenders are coming out. We had a few key games that help us define the season. We get to them and next this week rankings:

Saints 46 X Dolphins 34:

Miami had a 21 points first half lead, Ricky Williams ran for 3 TDs and they intercepted Drew Brees 3 times, all that while playing at home. All good things if they didn’t let New Orleans turn things around. And it’s not like a last minute comeback, the Saints finished 12 points ahead. What we’ve learned from that? Miami Wild Cat is fun, but they need a real quarterback and they won’t make very far this season. We knew New Orleans had a great defense and a great air game, but now we’ve seen they can even find a way to win ugly. This team seems ready to win it all, let’s see if the experience of Colts and others will make difference coming playoffs time.

Vikings 17 X Steelers 27

Favre had no TD and an Interception. He better start giving Peterson more carries if they wanna get somewhere. The guy was the best running back of the last season or two and this season improved his years/carrie avg, yet he’s carring the ball almost 3 times less per game than last season. The Steelers got Polamalu back and you know that means people should take them seriously.

CARDINALS 24 X GIANTS 17

Maybe Arizona still got some of that mojo from last year, and they should we receivers like that. Eli’s Giants after two straights losses looks a few steps behind his brother’s Colts.

Thanks to Peyton Manning, Ricky Williams, Vincent Jackson and Colts D (or Rams O) I killed this week and now I have the lead in my conference fantasy league. Maybe my second title in three years is coming after 3 W in a row.

Retrospectiva da Semana 7 da NFL

OK, semana sete terminada. Estamos chegando próximo da pós-temporada, e alguns candidatos ao título vão surgindo. Tivemos alguns jogos chaves para começar a definição desses candidatos. Resumiremos eles e daremos o ranking da semana da NFL:

Saints 46 X Dolphins 34:

Miami tinha 21 pontos de liderança no primeiro tempo. Rick Williams correu para 3 TDs e Drew Brees foi interceptado 3 vezes. Isso tudo com o Miami jogando em casa. Tudo maravilhoso, se não fosse a recuperação dos Saints. E não foi um recuperação na última oportunidade. O jogo acabou com New Orleans vencendo por 12 pontos. O que aprendemos com isso? O ataque Wild Cat do Miami é divertido, mas eles precisam de um quarterback de verdade, com isso eles não irão longe na temporada. Nós sabíamos que o New Orleans tinham uma boa defesa e um bom jogo aéreo. Agora aprendemos que eles também podem vencer jogando feio. Esse time parece pronto para chegar as finais, porém vamos ver se após experimentar times como os Colts, se ainda fará diferença.

Vikings 17 X Steelers 27

Favre não conseguiu nenhum TD, porém foi interceptado. É melhor ele começar a dar mais corridas para o Peterson , se eles pretendem ir a algum lugar.Peterson foi o melhor running back da temporada passada, e esse ano melhorou sua estatística year/carries avg. Isso tudo, e ele tem três vezes menos jogadas por jogo que ano passado. Os Steelers tiveram o reforço de Polomalu e isso quer dizer que é hora de levá-los a sério de novo.

CARDINALS 24 X GIANTS 17

Talvez Arizona ainda tenha um pouco da mágica do ano passado e devam ser considerados como foram ano passado. Os Giants de Eli após duas derrotas consecutivas parecem um pouco atrás dos Colts de seu irmão.

A Série está empatada !!! Yankees ganha o Jogo 2

Estou começando a acreditar que a série irá até o final. Outro duelo entre arremessadores. Cinco anos após seu último jogo no Yankee Stadium, Pedro Martinez estava de volta ao Yankee Stadium. Desde o primeiro momento que ele colocou seus pés no montinho, os fãs dos Yankees mostraram que ele estava de volta. O coro era conhecido por Pedro: Who' s Your Daddy??? ( Quem é seu pai???). No começo não pareceu incomodar Pedro. Ele eliminou Jeter e Damon, os dois por strike ou e depois Teixeira com um pop out.Ele não tinha mais a sua bola rápida de antigamente (um arremesso que destruía rebatedores, alcançando 160 km/h) mais os seus arremessos de off speed estavam em controle. Porém, despois disso, ao contrário do que aconteceu na quarta, os rebatedores ficaram um pouco mais paciente fazendo Pedro arremessar muitas bolas. Ele acabou permitindo dois home runs. Um para Teixeira numa contagem 1-0 que ficou um pouco alta demais na zone de strike permitindo Teixeira rebater no bullpen dos Yankees. O outro foi num arremesso em que a bola pegou mais parte da zona de strike que devia, fazendo com que Matsui pudesse colar nas arquibancadas do campo direito. 2 corridas em seis entradas não era de todo mal, mas aí o treinador Charlie Manuel cometeu um erro ( ou não, quem sabe?) e mandou Pedro de volta para sétima entrada. Depois de duas rebatidas Pedro foi tirado do jogo, mas os Yankees conseguiram converter ainda mais uma corrida.

Do outro lado Burnett arremessou o jogo mais importe da carreira dele com o uniforme dos Yankees ( o que ele reconheceria depois nas entrevistas). Arremessando strikes quase o jogo todo, ficando assim à frente dos rebatedores nas contagens, permitindo arremessar o seu breaking ball para strike. Depois de uma corrida anotada na segunda entrada ( mais culpa do A-Rod do que AJ) ele simplesmente, não parou de arremessar strikes. Trabalhando com seu catcher pessoal (que jogada de Molina eliminando Werth na primeira base) ele entrou em um ritmo e quando finalmente saiu do jogo, o placar dizia 3-1 Yankees e ele tinha arremessado 7 entradas, cedido 1 corrida e eliminado por strike 9, deixando para Mariano terminar o jogo com outro save de 6 eliminações. Fim de Jogo ! Série empatada. E agora nós vamos para a casa dos Phillies para o Jogo 3, onde outro duelo entre arremessadores ocorrerá entre Cole Hamels e Andy Pettitte, Nos vemos lá !

The Series is even !!! Yankees takes game 2

I'm starting to believe this series will go all the way ! Another pitchers duel. After five years since his last appearance Pedro Martinez was back to Yankees stadium. For the first time he put his feet at the mound the yankees fans let him know he was back. The chant was a Pedro's know: WHO'S YOUR DADDY???? At the beggining it didn't seen to afect Pedro. He got Jeter and Damon striking out and than got Teixeira out with a pop out. He didn't had his old fastball ( the one that use to blow hitters aways dialing 99mph) but his off speed pitches were in control. But after that the Yankees diferent from wednesday got a little more patient at the plate making Pedro trow a lot of pitches. He surrended two home runs. One to Teixeira on a 1-0 count that was a little to high and perfect to Teixeira drive to the Yankees bullpen. The other one was a pitch that got too much of the plate and Matsui sent to the right field. 2 runs on six inning was not that bad but manager Charlie Manuel made the mistake ( or not who knows) to send Pedro back to seventh inning. After two hits Pedro come out but the Yankees was able to send one of the runners home and the leed got a little bigger.

On the other side Burnett trew his most important game in pinstripes (as he recognize later at the interview). Trowing strike one almost the entire game he got ahead of hitters and was able to trow his breakball effectively for strike out. After a run scored in the second inning ( more because A-Rod could stop the ball than AJ faults) he simply didn't stop trow strikes. With his personal cacther again ( what a play by Molina to pickoff Werth on first base) his got into a rhythm and when he finally got out of the game the score were 3-1 Yankees and he trew a 7 inning 1 run 9 strikes out game living to Mariano to close the game on another 6 outs save. Game Over! Series even! And now we are going to Game 3 saturday at Phillies with a duel between Cole Hamels and Andy Pettitte ! See you there !

Phillies ganham o primeiro jogo da World Series

Noite difícil ontem. Cliff Lee chegou ao Bronx com um objetivo: arremessar strikes e fazer com que os rebatedores dos Yankees tentassem rebater bolas fora da zona de strikes. Desde o primeiro arremesso ele manteve os rebatedores fora de equilíbrio.Trabalhando os dois lados da zona de strike ele arremessou um jogo completo permitindo apenas uma corrida, eliminando por strike out 10 e não permitindo um walk se quer.  O time do Yankees conhecido por sua paciência no bastão não conseguiu nenhum walk.

Do outro lado, CC começou o jogo conseguindo duas eliminações rápidas, antes de entrar em apuros lotando as bases. Porém, Ibanez rebateu uma bola rasteira nas mãos do Cano e CC conseguiu sair sem danos. Apesar deste primeiro inning (onde fez 24 arremessos) CC deu aos Yankees 7 entradas cedendo apenas duas corridas, essas duas marcadas em home runs simples pelo Utley. Não foi um bom jogo do CC, mas pelo menos deu aos Yankees uma chance de ganhar. Depois da saída de CC, o bullpen implodiu permitindo o Phillies marcar 4 corridas. Mesmo com o esforço na 9 entrada não foi o suficiente.

Pela primeira vez nos playoffs desse ano, os Yankees estarão atrás, 0-1. Jogo 2 dessa noite é crucial e será uma batalha entre AJ Burnett contra Pedro Martinez.

Phillies win first game of the World Series

Rough night yesterday. Cliff Lee went to Bronx with one goal: trow strikes and make the Yankees hitters chase balls outside the zone. Since his first pitch Lee kept them off balance. Working both sides of the plate he trew a complete game alowing just one run and striking out 10 and without allowing a free pass. The Yankees hitters knowed as a patiente team couldn’t draw a single walk of Lee.

On the other side CC start the game getting to quicks out before got himself in trouble loading the bases but Ibanez hit a ground ball to Cano and CC got out of trouble. Beside that first inning (he had to trow 24 pitches) he gave the Yankees 7 innings of two run ball both runs scored by Utley solos shots. It was not a good game for CC but he still gave the Yankees a close game. After CC got out of the game the Yankees bullpen imploded surrendering 4 runs. Even with the effort in the 9 inning it was not enough.

For the first time in this playoffs the Yankees will be behind 0-1. Game two is crucial for them and will be a battle between AJ Burnett and Pedro Martinez.

World Series

Two hours to the beginning of the World Series. The best two teams in Baseball will play to see who is the best. I made no secret that i’m rooting for the Yankees but i believe this will be a wonderful series. Tonight’s first game  will show the aces of both teams. For the Yankees CC Sabathia fresh of a MVP campaign will get the nod. From Phillies will be CC ex teammate from Clevand Cliff Lee. Both threw great games last time at the mound. CC shuted the Angels down for 8 innings of 1 run. Lee stopped the Dodgers for 8 innings too but didn’t allowed a run and had 10 strikes out.

I believe this first game will be all about the offenses. CC need to make the Phillies swing at pitches. Keep them off balance. Rolins-Victorino-Utley-Roward-Wethr and Ibanez is a very dangerous lineup. After that it gets a little easier ( unlees Ruiz decide to kill the Yankees like he did back in may).

For the Phillies Lee has to make the Yankees hitters in particular Rodriguez to chase pitches outside the strike zone or he is gonna be in trouble early at the game. And if the Yankees get to Phillies bullpen early in the game like 5 ou 6 inning they’ll have a great opportunity to win the first game. Jeter-Damon-Teixeira-Rodriguez-Posada-Matsui-Cano-Swisher and Cabrera make a very dangerous lineup up and down.

I’ll be like you guys watching this without blink and that tonight’s game become the beginning of a great series.

Previsões para NBA – Parte I

É outubro e para nós fãs da NBA significa que o natal chegou mais cedo: chegou o início da temporada da NBA. A última temporada terminou com LA de volta ao topo e com Kobe finalmente vencendo sem o seu antigo Batman, Shaq. Será que eles podem repetir? Será esse o ano que Lebron vence o campeonato pela primeira vez ou jogo pelo Cavs pela última vez? Qual estrela surgirá e qual cairá no esquecimento? Só saberemos em junho, mas com certeza é divertir tentar prever. Então, vou tentar acertar algumas coisas, prevendo como será a temporada pra cada time., Começaremos com o Leste e no final da semana, o Oeste.

ATLANTA HAWKS

Eles foram um time bom e sólido na última temporada, mantiveram a rotação titular e ficaram um pouco melhor dentro e fora do garrafão com as aquisições de Jamal Crawford e Joe Smith. Bom, certo? Sim se você apenas estiver tentando chegar aos playoffs, mas pode esquecer chegar às finais de conferências tendo uma competição tão forte como Boston, Cleveland e Orlando parecem ser agora.

BOSTON CELTICS

Todos sabem o quanto eles foram fortes nos últimos três anos. Adicionar Marquis Daniels traz juventude e um reserva sólido pro Rondo, mas e o Rasheed? Dá pra pular essa? Eu não tenho idéia de quais serão as conseqüências. A única coisa que eu sei é que o Big Three tá ficando velho e não sabemos quantos mais eles ainda agüentam. Eles já são um time de playoffs, mas chegar às finais de conferência ou vencer tudo dependerá da saúde dos joelhos de Garnett e no impacto de Rasheed no vestiário.

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

Eles lutaram por uma vaga nos playoffs temporada passada e provavelmente lutarão por uma esse ano, mas perderam a chance de se tornarem um time relevante quando não assinaram cm o Iverson. Por favor, deem uma olhada nesse elenco! Eles tem bons jogadores mas cadê a estrela desse time? Eles não tem uma, e precisarão de uma para se tornar um time de playoffs e ainda duas ou três para pensar em título. Possivelmente irão afundar enquanto esperam pelo verão, quando as coisas não acontecerem do jeito que eles esperam.

CHICAGO BULLS

Com os jogadores que eles tem, eles serão problemas para outros times daqui a dois anos, mas no momento eles são um time que não deve passar da primeira fase dos playoffs. Eles precisam achar um jeito de fazer Hinrich e Rose coexistirem ou trocar capitão Kirk. Ele já se apresentam como importantes no verão que vem. Trocando Hinrich pode colocá-los numa posição melhor ainda, permitindo que eles negociem com Wade, Bosh ou até mesmo Lebron. Então, essa temporada será para desenvolver Rose e planejar as férias de verão.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

Vamos analisar: Defesa sólida: Checado. Presença no garrafão: Checado. Banco forte: Checado. Experiência em playoffs: Checado. Melhor jogador do planeta, talvez melhor de todos os tempos: Checado.   O que? Parece bonito no papel, não? Três finais consecutivas no Leste e adicionaram Jamario Moon, ala brigador Leon Powe e quatro vezes campeão da NBA, ex-MVP da temporada e das finais e atual MVP do All-Star, ex- Big Cactus. Parece até melhor, mas qual o problema? Talvez, porque Shaq esteja com 37 anos, mas o que ainda me aborrece, é que eles conseguiram ser eliminados pelo Orlando, mesmo o Lebron jogando em um outro nível. É melhor eles pararem de assistir Lebron jogando, não importa o quão maravilhoso possa ser e começarem a jogar ou então eles só poderão assistir o Lebron duas a quatro vezes por temporada, pois ele estará usando outro uniforme.

DETROIT PISTONS

O grande time do Pistons não existe mais. Ben Wallace não vai conseguir seu título, e eu odeio o que eles fizeram com a carreira do Iverson. Então, não perderei tempo com eles. Lutarão por uma vaga nos playoffs, mas espero que não consigam.

INDIANA PACERS

Eles ainda existem??? Eu pensei que eles tivessem fechado depois da aposentadoria do Reggie. Desculpa, deixa eu dar uma olhada, então, no elenco. Ok, eu gosto do T.J. Ford e do Danny Granger, ponto. Esperando ansioso para ver Hansbrough transformar-se de grande jogador na faculdade para um jogador sem importância na NBA. Diversão a frente.

MIAMI HEAT

Dwyane Wade deve ter feito alguma coisa de muito ruim para merecer uma punição como essa. Sua carreira perde um ano que temporada que ele joga com seus companheiros.Ninguém carrega um fardo tão grande desde de que Kristie Alley começou sua dieta. Wade irá embora e todos os torcedores sabem. Preparem-se para próxima temporada quando Beasley carregara esse fardo e se aposentará para recuperar sua vida. MILWAUKEE BUCKS

Me sinto mal pelos fãs dos Bucs. Eu tenho dúvidas que eles fariam parte do Sweet Sixteen se eles fossem um time de universidade.É melhor eles terem um grande verão temporada que vem. Aliás, se você está irritado comigo, só porque em todo time eu digo sobre o próximo verão, prepare-se para atirar em alguém durante a temporada. Os narradores e comentaristas irão falar mais vezes ainda sobre o verão de 2010, o teto salarial e free-agency. Não importa o quão bonzinho você é, uma hora vai passar esse desejo na sua cabeça. Mesmo que seja sua namorada perguntando sobre os planos para as férias. Não se preocupe, ela não vai chegar as férias.

NEW JERSEY NETS

Os únicos bons jogadores que eles tem jogam na mesma posição. Não, não e uma piada do supervisor dos Nets, pelo menos os fãs não acham engraçada, a não ser que no verão do ano que vem eles consigam Lebron. Você sabe, o verão responsável por algumas mortes.

NEW YORK KNICKS

Outro time lutando em uma batalha diferente, conseguir  o Rei Lebron. Entretanto, na atual temporada eles são um time de refugiados, porém o leste não é forte o suficiente para eliminá-los da luta por uma vaga nos playoffs. Eu não quero parecer maluco, mas, eu gosto do D’Antoni. Eles possuem alguns bons jogadores, e com a possível vinda de Lebron ano que vem eles podem conseguir até mais alguns bons jogadores.

ORLANDO MAGIC

Eles nos surpreenderam chegando as finais ano passado, mas perderam uma de suas principais peças, Torkuglu. Porém, mesmo Hedo tendo partido, eles trouxeram Vince Carter, J. Williams e…. No papel, eles se apresentam melhor que ano passado, porém o ano não é 2001. A mais de uma década, Vince Carter e J. Williams mostraram muito talento, mas não conseguiram transformar esse talento em mais do que jogadas espetaculares. Especialmente, Carter terá que mostrar habilidade de ganhar e vontade de ganhar no que promete ser a mais importante temporada da sua carreira. Portanto, o cronômetro começou, Vince. Se você não conseguir provar o Hall da Fama não o acolherá, mas os Globetrotters podem.

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

Eles perderam o melhor ala armador que tinham, mas ainda possuem um time jovem e talentoso. Pode não ser o suficiente para conseguir um lugarzinho nos playoffs, mas eles lutarão e para isso precisarão de um Elton Brand sem contusões, para liderá-los. O problema é que uma nova contusão para o Elton Brand parece tão certo como a Lady Gaga lançar um clipe maluco atrás do outro. No momento as duas coisas são fatos quase garantidos.

TORONTO RAPTORS

Bosh terá uma situação mais tranquila na quadra que Wade, porém D-Wade mora em Miami. Todos os caminhos o levam a deixar Toronto. Próximo verão deverá ser usado para reconstruir o elenco ( ou construir, porque re implica que eles foram relevantes).

WASHINGTON WIZARDS

Eu na~sei. Eles possuem talento além de Gilbert Arenas, mas parecem depositar suas esperanças na mão do  Agente Zero e nós sabemos duas coisas sobre ele: Ele é um dos mais talentosos jogadores da liga. Dois: Ele é um dos jogadores mais loucos dessa mesma liga. Então, boa sorte fãs dos Wizards e não se iludem por mais do que primeira fase dos playoffs.

TIMES NOS PLAYOFFS EM ALGUMA ORDEM

NBA Preview – Part I

It’s october and for us NBA’s fans, christmas comes early: It’s NBA season tip-off. Last season ended with LA back on top and Kobe finally winning one without Shaq been the Batman to his Robin. Can they do it again? Is this the year Lebron wins the championship for the first time or plays for Cavs for the last time? Which star will emerge, which one will be forgotten? We’ll only know this by june, but sure it’s fun to try to predict. So, I’ll try to get a few things right predicting how things will go down for each team. Lets start with the east and by the end of the week, the western teams!

ATLANTA HAWKS:

They were a good, solid team last season, kept the starting lineup and got a little better inside and outside with the acquisition of Jamal Crawford and Joe Smith. Good, right?? Yes if you only trying to get to the playoffs, but you can forget about getting to conference finals, not with the competition been as strong as Boston, Cleveland and Orlando seem right now.

BOSTON CELTICS

Everybody knows how strong they were the last couple of years. Adding Marquis Daniels gets them youth, another scoring option and a solid reserve to Rondo, and what about Rasheed? Can we skip this one?? I have no idea what the consequences will be. The only thing I know is that the big three it’s getting olderand we don’t know how much they still got left. They are a playoff team already, but getting to conference finals or even winning it all again rest on Garnett’s knee health and the impact of having Rasheed in your locker room.

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

They fought for a playoff spot last season and will probably do it again this year, but they lost their chances of been relevant by not inking Iverson. Come on, look at that roster!! They have good role players, but what about a star? They don’t have one. They’ll need one to be a playoff team, and two or three to even think about a ring. Expect than to tank in waiting for the summer if things don’t go their way from the start.

CHICAGO BULLS

With these pieces they’ll be trouble in a couple of years, but now they are a first round exit team. They need to find a way for Hinrich and Rose co-exist or deal captain Kirk. They already seem to be a big player next summer, so dealing Hinrich could placing them in a good position to add Wade, Bosh or even Lebron. So, this season will be all about watching Rose develop and planning summer vacations.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

Let’s analyze them: Solid defense: check, Inside presence: check, Strong bench: check, Playoffs experience: check, best player in the planet and maybe the best ever: check. What?? That looks good on paper right? They’re coming from three straight eastern finals and just added swingman Jamario Moon, fighting undersized forward Leon Powe and four times NBA champion, former MVP and finals MVP and reining All-Star MVP ex-Big Cactus. That looks even better. So what’s wrong? Maybe the fact that Shaq is 37, but still bothers me the way they managed to lost to Orlando, while Lebron was playing in another level. They better stop watching Lebron playing, no matter how amazing he is, and start playing some ball or they’ll be watching Lebron playing live only two or four times a year, and he will be using a different uniform.

DETROIT PISTONS

The great Pistons team is gone, Ben Gordon will never get you a title and I hate them for what they did to Iverson’s career, so I won’t waste time on them. Fighting for a playoffs spot, hope they don’t make it.

INDIANA PACERS

They still exist??? I thought they closed after Reggie retired. Sorry, then let me take a look at that roster. OK, I like T.J Ford and Danny Granger. Period. Looking forward to watch Hansbrough going from college hoops stud to NBA non-factor. That should be fun.

MIAMI HEAT

Dwyane Wade must have done something real bad to deserve a punishment like this. His career gets one year shorter for each season he plays with this guys. Nobody carried a bigger load since Kristie Alley went on a diet. Wade is gone and every Heat fan knows it. Prepare for next season when Beasley carries the load and retires from the NBA to go rehab for life. MILWAUKEE BUCKS

I feel for Bucks fans. I have my doubts they’d be a sweet sixteen team if they were a college team. They better have a great summer next year. By the way, if u angry that I mentioned next summer about every team commentary, than be prepare for this season. You’ll shooting someone before playoffs. That’s how much TV announcers will talk about the famous summer of 2010, cap space and free-agency. I don’t care how nice you are, murdering someone will pass through your mind. Even if it’s your girlfriend asking where you wanna go for summer vacations. She won’t get to the vacations part.

NEW JERSEY NETS

They only have two good players and they play the same position. No, Nets’ GM isn’t playing a joke, at least Nets’ fans don’t think it’s funny, unless… they get Lebron during that time, next year. You know, responsible for some deaths, as explained up.

NEW YORK KNICKS

Another team playing on a different battle, the King James Sweepstakes. As for the actual season, they are a team of refugees, but the east it’s not deep enough to rule them out of a fight for playoffs spot. I don’t want to sound crazy, but I like D’Antoni, they even got a few good players and if with Lebron comes another good player, they may have a chance of getting James next season.

ORLANDO MAGIC

They surprised us making to the finals last season, but lost one of theirs main pieces in Torkuglu. But although Hedo is gone, they added V. Carter, J. Williams and ______. On paper that’s an improvement, making them serious contenders for the ring, except that we’re not in 2001. For almost a decade Carter e Williams showed a lot talented, but never translated to anything better that highlights. Especially Carter will have the most important season of his career when he’ll try to show us his ability to win and most important, prove us he cares about winning. So you’re on the clock Vince, if it doesn’t work out Hall of Fame won’t call, but Globetrotters may.

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

They lost their point-guard but still got a young and talented team. That may not be enough, and if they'll fight for a playoffs spot, then they will need a healthy Elton Brand to lead them. The problem with that is that Brand's new injury seems as sure as the fact Lady Gaga will launch one crazy video after another. Right now both facts are almost locks.

TORONTO RAPTORS

Bosh will live a situation a little better than Wade on the court, but at least D-Wade lives in Miami. All pathways leads him out of Toronto. Next summer and drafts should be used for rebuilding (Or building, cause the re means they were relevant once).

WASHINGTON WIZARDS

I don’t know. They got talented other than Gilbert Arenas, but their hope lies on Agent Zero hands, and we all know two things about this guy. One: He’s one of the most talented players in the league. Two: He’s one of the craziest players in the league. So, good look Wizards fans, but wait for nothing more than a first round.

Os Yankees estão de novo na World Series !!!

Eram duas horas da manhã quando o último arremesso de Mariano chegou a luva de Posada. Oito anos após a World Series contra o D-Backs, onde eu comecei a ver e amar os Yankees nós estamos de volta. E que série. Depois dois dois primeiros jogos eu, realmente achava que acabaria em apenas quatro jogos. Rodriguez rebatendo como nunca, CC arremessando como o verdadeiro ace  do time. E, o próprio time acreditando que poderia voltar contra qualquer resultado, a qualquer hora. Mas, os Angels me lembraram o porque deles terem varrido o Red Sox. Mathis impulsiona a corrida decisiva no jogo 3  e no próximo jogo CC teria que jogar com apenas três dias de descanso. Essa foi a hora, que o futuro MVP da ALCS se apresentou para mim. Arremessando como eu nunca tinha visto ele, simplesmente, dominou os Angels e mandou o aviso: Ninguém pode parar os Yankees. Eu sei que os Angels ganharam o jogo 5, mas para mim,não importava, era só uma questão de acontecer no jogo 6 ou no jogo 7. Levou apenas um jogo (mesmo a chuva tendo adiado por um dia). Andy mostrou por um arremessador com experiência é tão importante nessas situações. Arremessando strike sempre no primeiro arremesso para os três primeiros rebatedores dos Angels ele mostrava o que viria no restante do jogo. Do outro lado Saunders não conseguia repetir sua performance do jogo 2. Ele não conseguiu o primeiro arremesso strike para quase nenhum rebatedor colocando dois homens em base na primeira entrada e lotando as bases na segunda entrada. Porém, os Yankees falharam em anotar corrida. Foi então, que o herói dos Angels Mathis iniciou a terceira entrada com uma rebatida dupla (sua sexta nessa série). Após um sac-bunt e uma eliminação rasteira, Abreu rebateu uma simples com direito a uma corrida com dois eliminados colocando os Angels na frente no placar. Na parte de baixo da entrada os Yankees revidaram e com bases lotadas anotaram duas corridas com uma rebatida simples de Damon, conseguindo a liderança, que eles não perderiam mais. Rodriguez conseguiriam um walk com bases lotadas de novo, depois de uma rebatida simples de Teixeira e outra corrida seria anotada. O jogo ficou um pouco morno até o sexto inning, quando Andy se meteu em apuros. Ele mesmo resolveria o problemas defendendo uma rebatida que veio em sua direção conseguindo a eliminação. Mariano deu um pouco de emoção à oitava entrada, permitindo Figgins anotar uma corrida numa rebatida simples de Vlad com dois eliminados, mas foi só isso. Na parte baixa da oitava a defesa do Angels apareceu de novo, só que de maneira errada. Dois erros ( o erro do Kazmir foi HORROROSO !!!!) e um sac-fly do Teixeira, e Mariano finalmente consegue as três últimas eliminações que precisávamos. Fim de JOGO! Fim de Série! Apenas os Phillies no caminho do título número 27!

And The Yankees Are Going To The World Series !!!

It was about 2:00 a.m (here in Brazil) when Mariano last pitch got into Posada’s glove. Eight years after the World Series against the D-Backs when I start to watch and love the Yankees we are back ! And wath a series. After the first two games I really thought this series would finish in four. Rodriguez lock up CC pitching like the true ace of the staff and the team believing that they could come back at any time at any game. But the Angels reminded me why they had sweept the Red Sox. Mathis walk-off on game 3 and next game CC would pitch on three days rest. That was the time that future ALCS MVP really step up for me. Pitching like I never saw he shut the Angels down and send the news: Nobody can stop The Yankees. I know the Angels won game 5 but to me it didn’t matter. It would be game 6 or game 7 but the Yankees would get there. It only took the Yankees one more game (even though we had to wait one more day because of the rain). Andy one more time showed why a experience pitcher is so important in this situations. He threw first pitch strike to Angels first three hitters. That was a indication of what would come. On the other side Saunders didn’t pitch like he did in game 2. He fell behind to almost every hitter putting two on bases in the first inning and loading the bases in the second inning. But the Yankees failed to bring home a run. And than Angels hero Mathis start the third inning with a double ( he had 6 doubles in the series). After a sac-bunt and a groundout Abreu hit a RBI single with two outs putting the Angels one nothing on the board. On the bottom of the inning the Yankees stroke back and with the bases loaded Damon hits a two-RBI single putting the Yankees in the lead a lead they would never lose again. Rodriguez drew a walk with the bases loaded again after Teixeira single and another run scored. The game got a little cold until the sixth inning when Andy got in a little bit trouble but got out of it making a play on a hit right at his face. Mariano made the eight inning a little fun allowing Figgins to score on Vlads hit with two outs but that was it. On the bottom of the eight inning the Angels defense show up again  but not on the right way. Another two errors ( Kazmir error was UUUUUUUGGLY !!!!) and a sac-fly for Teixeira and Mariano finally got the last three outs that we need. Game Over ! ALCS Over! And now only the Phillies are in the way of number 27 !
